Holzbau Müller GmbH
Stuttgart
About the company
Founded in 1978 by Master Carpenter Wolfgang Müller in Stuttgart, Holzbau Müller began as a small family workshop specializing in traditional timber framing. The company expanded steadily throughout the 1980s and 1990s, and Wolfgang's son Thomas joined as a master carpenter in 2002. In 2010, Thomas took over the business, modernizing operations while maintaining traditional craftsmanship values. Today, the company operates as a GmbH (limited liability company) with Thomas as managing director.
Values
Holzbau Müller GmbH prides itself on blending traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. We maintain the highest standards of quality and structural integrity in all our projects, believing that our work should last for generations. Sustainability is central to our philosophy, and we prioritize locally-sourced timber and environmentally responsible practices. Regarding work safety, we maintain a rigorous protocol with mandatory safety briefings and strictly enforce the use of protective equipment. Every new employee undergoes comprehensive safety training, and we conduct monthly safety audits. We've invested significantly in modern safety equipment and dust extraction systems to protect our craftspeople, seeing this not as a regulatory burden but as an essential part of respecting our team's wellbeing.
Workshop
Our 1,200 square meter workshop is located in an industrial area on the outskirts of Stuttgart. The facility is divided into several specialized areas including a main production floor for cutting and assembling large timber elements, a separate area for CNC machining, and a dedicated finishing section. Large sliding doors allow for the movement of oversized timber components, while overhead crane systems facilitate handling of heavy beams. The facility also includes a climate-controlled area for wood storage to ensure optimal material stability, and a modern office space with CAD workstations for planning and design work. A small showroom displays samples of various wood types and joint techniques to help clients visualize their projects.

Buying behavior
We invest in quality tools that last generations. I'd rather spend twice as much on a tool that works perfectly for twenty years than replace cheap equipment every season. Our reputation depends on precision, so we need tools we can trust completely.
