Markus Weber

Markus has been with Holzbau Müller for over 30 years, joining shortly after Wolfgang Müller founded the company. He completed his master qualification while working at the company and has been instrumental in maintaining the traditional techniques that distinguish the company's work. He has trained dozens of apprentices throughout his career, including Thomas Müller himself.

Modern tools have their place, but understanding how to read the grain of wood and select the right beam for each purpose is something that comes only with decades of experience. I can often tell more by running my hands over a timber than some can with a moisture meter.

Physical Condition

Markus has developed significant joint degeneration in his shoulders and hands from decades of physical labor. Today his right shoulder is particularly stiff and painful, limiting his overhead work capabilities, though he compensates by focusing on supervision and detailed work at bench height.

Favorite Place

Markus feels most at home in the wood storage area where timber is carefully stacked for seasoning. He enjoys walking between the rows of different wood species, each with distinct scents and characteristics. This quiet corner of the facility allows him to select materials with care, often finding the perfect piece for challenging jobs by identifying subtle grain patterns that others might miss.
