Müller & Söhne Holzbau GmbH
Stuttgart
About the company
Müller & Söhne Holzbau GmbH was founded in 1978 by master carpenter Franz Müller in Stuttgart. Starting as a small family workshop with just two employees, the company expanded gradually under his leadership. In 1998, Franz's sons Thomas and Michael joined the business, bringing modern technologies and management approaches. The company was restructured as a GmbH (limited liability company) in 2002. Today, the third generation is being incorporated into leadership positions, with Thomas's daughter Lisa serving as operations manager while her father and uncle hold managing director positions.
Values
Müller & Söhne Holzbau values craftsmanship excellence, environmental responsibility, and innovation balanced with tradition. They actively participate in the dual education system, training 3-4 apprentices annually to preserve traditional woodworking techniques. Workplace safety is paramount, with mandatory weekly safety briefings, quarterly external audits, and immediate reporting of even minor incidents. All employees receive comprehensive safety equipment and training specific to their roles. The company maintains ISO 45001 certification for occupational health and safety management and has gone five years without a significant workplace accident.
Workshop
The Müller & Söhne workshop spans 1,500 square meters in a renovated industrial building on the outskirts of Stuttgart. The facility is divided into specialized production zones with a modern machine hall housing CNC equipment and automated systems for precision cutting and processing. A separate hand-crafting area allows master carpenters to work on custom details and finishing. The design studio features CAD workstations where projects are developed in close collaboration with clients. A dedicated finishing room with controlled environment ensures perfect results for staining and lacquering. The warehouse and material storage area is meticulously organized with an inventory management system tracking all supplies.

Specifics
Buying behavior
We invest in quality tools that last generations, not just seasons. The initial price tag might be higher, but when I calculate the lifetime value and reliability factor, premium German engineering always wins. As my father used to say, 'A craftsman is only as good as his tools'.
