Klaus is known for his encyclopedic knowledge of traditional joinery techniques and his meticulous attention to detail. He takes particular pride in training the next generation of carpenters.
Experience: Master Carpenter with over 40 years of experience (10/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Historical restoration projects
- Complex joinery work
- Mentoring apprentices
A true carpenter listens to the wood; each piece tells you how it wants to be worked if you pay attention. I've seen many tools and techniques come and go, but understanding the material remains the foundation of everything we do.
Physical Condition
Klaus shows signs of joint degeneration in his hands from decades of woodworking, with slightly reduced grip strength. His movements are slower but extremely precise, and he occasionally needs to take breaks during physically demanding tasks.
Favorite Place
Klaus feels most at home in the hand-crafting area where traditional tools hang alongside modern ones. The workbench he's used for thirty years shows the marks of countless projects and has become almost an extension of himself. He loves the early mornings here when sunlight streams through the windows, illuminating the fine wood dust in the air and creating what he calls 'the golden hour of craftsmanship.'
