Felix Zimmermann
Felix worked as an automotive electrician for ten years before transitioning to building electrical systems with a focus on EV charging infrastructure. He joined Elektro Schmidt three years ago when they were expanding their electric vehicle charging station installation services. His unique background combining automotive and building electrical knowledge has made him valuable as EV charging demand grows.
Experience: 13 years electrical experience, 3 years specializing in EV charging systems (7/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Electric vehicle charging station installation
- High-power charging system design
- Fleet charging infrastructure projects
The transition to electric vehicles represents one of the biggest shifts in both transportation and electrical infrastructure in our lifetimes. Every charging station we install helps build the network that will make widespread EV adoption possible and reduce our dependence on fossil fuels.
Physical Condition
Currently suffering from an ankle injury sustained in a workplace accident when a heavy charging station component fell during installation. Uses a supportive brace and has been temporarily assigned to lighter duties including customer consultations and system design.
Favorite Place
Felix thrives at the intersection where buildings meet vehicles – the electrical service entrances and distribution panels where he calculates load requirements for EV charging systems. These spaces, whether in residential garages or commercial parking facilities, present unique technical challenges in upgrading electrical infrastructure to handle the substantial power demands of vehicle charging. He enjoys the precision required to optimize charging systems within the constraints of existing electrical service, finding elegance in creating efficient solutions that balance performance, safety, and cost effectiveness.
