Jan Müller
Jan discovered woodworking through a school program and began his apprenticeship after completing his Abitur (high school diploma). He chose the apprenticeship path rather than university despite excellent grades because of his passion for creating physical objects. He's in his final year of the traditional three-year Tischler (cabinetmaker) training program.
Experience: Advanced apprentice nearing journeyman status (2/10)
Favorite Jobs
- CNC operation
- Assembly
- Sanding and preparation
- Machine maintenance
I love the combination of tradition and technology we use here. My friends at university are surprised when I show them the complex programming and precision engineering involved in modern woodworking. It's nothing like the stereotypical image many have of traditional crafts.
Physical Condition
Jan is in excellent physical condition with the stamina and strength of youth. Today he's feeling energetic and ready to tackle physically demanding tasks around the workshop.
Favorite Place
I'm drawn to our machine room with its powerful tools and digital interfaces. The precision and capabilities of our 5-axis CNC machine fascinate me, and I enjoy the process of translating design intent into machine operations. There's something satisfying about watching the machine execute complex operations with perfect precision after you've programmed it correctly.
