Heinrich Schmidt
Heinrich founded Baumwelt Schmidt in 2003 after completing his certification as a Master Arborist. He grew up in a small town near Dresden and developed a passion for trees while helping his grandfather, who was a forester, during summer holidays. After apprenticing with a leading tree care company in Munich, he moved to Berlin to start his own business.
Experience: Over 25 years of professional experience in arboriculture (9/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Heritage tree restoration
- Complex pruning operations
- Training apprentices
Trees are living witnesses to our city's history, and I consider it a privilege to care for them. Every day brings a new challenge, whether it's diagnosing an unusual disease or finding the perfect balance in an ancient oak's crown.
Physical Condition
Despite being in generally good physical condition for his age, Heinrich occasionally experiences lower back pain from years of climbing and heavy lifting. He manages this with regular exercise and is careful about his technique when demonstrating climbing to younger staff.
Favorite Place
Heinrich's favorite place is the old beech forest in Grunewald on the outskirts of Berlin. He often visits early in the morning before work to walk among the centuries-old trees, observing their natural growth patterns and the way light filters through the canopy. The peaceful atmosphere helps him clear his mind and reminds him why he chose this profession.
