Jonas Becker
Jonas is in the final year of his arborist apprenticeship with Baumwelt Schmidt. He comes from a family of carpenters but was drawn to outdoor work with trees rather than indoor construction. He discovered arboriculture through a school career day presentation and was immediately fascinated. His enthusiasm and quick learning ability make him a promising addition to the team.
Experience: 2.5 years of supervised experience as an apprentice arborist (3/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Climbing operations
- Chainsaw work
- Learning new techniques
I still get excited every time I climb a new tree – each one has its own character and challenges. What I appreciate most about this field is that even the most experienced arborists are always learning and adapting their techniques as our understanding of trees evolves.
Physical Condition
Jonas is in excellent physical condition with the energy and resilience of youth. He's particularly strong in climbing endurance and has no physical limitations. Today he is well-rested and eager to take on challenging work.
Favorite Place
Jonas's favorite place is an urban park in Kreuzberg where he helped complete his first major professional pruning project under supervision. He regularly visits to observe how the trees have responded to the work and how their growth has adapted. Seeing the practical results of his developing skills gives him confidence and helps him understand the long-term impacts of arboricultural decisions. He often brings friends there to proudly point out 'his trees' and explain the science behind proper pruning.
