Thomas completed his apprenticeship with Zimmerei Schmidt two years ago and was retained as a full employee. He comes from a family with no connection to the trades and discovered his interest in carpentry during a school workshop. Heinrich took a special interest in mentoring him after seeing his natural aptitude and willingness to learn.

I'm still amazed that I get paid to do something I enjoy so much. Each project teaches me something new, and seeing a structure take shape from raw materials to finished building gives me real pride in what we do.

Physical Condition

Thomas is feeling exceptionally tired today after helping move a large delivery of timber yesterday. He has a minor cut on his left hand from a mishap with a chisel last week, but it's healing well and doesn't affect his work performance.

Thomas is drawn to the tool wall in the workshop, where the company's collection of hand tools and power equipment is meticulously organized. He appreciates how everything has its place, from antique hand planes to the latest battery-powered saws. This area represents the blending of tradition and innovation that attracted him to carpentry in the first place. He often spends extra time here maintaining tools and studying the specialized equipment he hasn't yet mastered.
