Julia Koch
Julia studied environmental science before deciding she wanted a more active career that still connected to her ecological interests. She joined Baumpflege Müller's apprenticeship program after meeting Thomas at a career fair. Julia splits her time between practical training with the company and theoretical coursework at the vocational school in Frankfurt.
Experience: Apprentice in final year of training with growing practical experience (3/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Tree planting
- Young tree structural pruning
- Root zone management
I'm constantly amazed by how much there is to learn about trees—the biology, physics, and practical skills all come together in this profession. I appreciate working with such experienced mentors who are willing to share their knowledge with the next generation.
Physical Condition
Julia is in excellent physical condition with strong core strength from regular rock climbing as a hobby. She occasionally experiences muscle strain from learning new climbing techniques but recovers quickly due to her youth and fitness level.
Favorite Place
Julia's favorite place is the community garden she helps maintain near her apartment in Frankfurt. She's applied her growing arboricultural knowledge to care for the fruit trees there, turning it into an informal demonstration site for proper pruning techniques. The social aspect of sharing knowledge with community members while creating a green oasis in the urban environment represents exactly why she chose this career path.
