Hwang Ji-woo
Ji-woo originally trained as an automotive mechanic but developed an interest in woodworking through a friend. He joined Hanyang Mokjae five years ago with limited carpentry experience but extensive knowledge of tools and machinery. His technical aptitude quickly made him valuable for maintaining the company's equipment while simultaneously developing his carpentry skills.
Experience: 5 years of carpentry experience with specialty in tool maintenance and operation (5/10)
Favorite Jobs
- Tool maintenance and repair
- Training others on safe tool operation
- Shop organization
- Precision cutting with specialized equipment
A carpenter is only as good as their tools, and well-maintained tools show respect for the craft. I find satisfaction in keeping everything running perfectly so our craftspeople can focus on their work without interruption or concern for equipment failures.
Physical Condition
Physically fit but tired today after a late night fixing a malfunctioning table saw that's needed for a critical project. He has a small fresh cut on his left thumb from the repair work, properly bandaged.
Favorite Place
Ji-woo's favorite place is the tool maintenance room he has meticulously organized at Hanyang Mokjae. The walls are lined with neatly arranged tools, each hanging in a labeled position with maintenance schedules posted nearby. He has installed special workbenches for tool repair and calibration with proper lighting and anti-static surfaces. The room represents his philosophy that proper organization and maintenance are foundational to quality craftsmanship, and he takes visible pride in showing new employees the systems he has developed.
